Generate your unique reference number
Make an EFT via: internet banking, sms banking or atm.
Receive your prepaid token via sms.
NOTE THIS SERVICE IS DEPENDENT ON THE EFT SERVICE FROM THE BANKS SO THERE MAY BE A TIME DELAY ESPECIALLY AFTER HOURS, OVER WEEKENDS AND INTERBANK. TIME DELAY TYPICALLY BETWEEN 2-24 HOURS.
Generate your reference number.
You must use this Reference Number. If you use the wrong reference number and realise it too late send us a mail to
Insert your prepaid meter number and your cellphone number below to generate your unique reference number. The meter number is used to generate the prepaid electricity token and your cellphone number is used to send you the token. This reference number is unique to you. You can reuse this reference number so save it on your internet banking profile.
Make an EFT
Open your banking app or log in on your internet banking portal and make an eft to the Netelek Online Prepaid Vending account.

Note there is an account available with every major bank. Use the account from the same bank you will be transferring from. This way we can keep the transaction time as low as possible. See the list of account numbers below.
Use the reference number you generated in step 1. This reference number contains your meter number and your cellphone number. Take care to put it in the recipient's reference field and not your own otherwise we won't be able to generate your token or send it to you.
Must be R200 or more. If you transfer less than R200 we won't be able to generate your token and there's no guarantee that we will be able to transfer your money back to you.
Note: you can also make an EFT using SMS banking and an ATM. Check the services available on your particular banking package and the costs associated.
Wait for your sms.
If you transferred to an account from the same bank as yours then you should receive your token via SMS with in two hours. Note that if you made your transfers after hours, over a weekend or to an account from a different bank as yours then your SMS may take up to 24 hours to arrive. Note the token is sent to the cell number used in your unique reference number.
