Unlocking of Spaza-Shops, Hawkers & Small Traders COVID-19 to trade

Since the pronouncement of the Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (GoGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, on Thursday 2 April 2020 on new regulations, the local Spaza-shop, hawkers and small traders are now allowed to trade during lockdown period.
However, these operators will be allowed to operate only on the provision that they sell essential items such as fruits, vegetables and other food items and that they have Municipal Permits or Business Licenses.
In terms of issuing out permits the following will happen, namely:
· There shall be a single standard application form signed.
· Hawkers/ Spazas and Small traders must produce the Municipal permits with proof of payment.
· Monitoring will be done by HOD,Communications ans Area Managers.
